British Columbia PNP Express Entry

An Overview of British Columbia Express Entry:

British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)

Home to Vancouver, the 3rd largest city in Canada, British Columbia is one of the most diverse provinces in the country. It is a hub of economic growth, with the major industries being forestry, mining, natural gas, and tourism, having been voted several times as the most beautiful place in Canada.

There are several ways to immigrate to British Columbia. If you are a graduate or a skilled worker, the easiest way is the province’s Express Entry program called British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

One of the greatest benefits of immigrating into British Columbia through this program is that you will get permanent resident status. This not only gives you peace of mind and allows you to make more permanent plans such as buying a home, but you will be one step closer to getting Canadian citizenship.

From January 27, 2016, the British Columbia government has been using the points-based Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) for BC PNP. The system gives candidates a registration score and the higher you score, the more likely you are to be invited to apply. The score is based on such factors as direct work experience in the province and education level.

How to Apply

You could apply directly to the British Columbia government. If you are nominated, you could then build a new Express Entry profile and import your BCPNP nomination credentials.

Alternatively, you could start with a new Express Entry profile and then indicate your interest to immigrate to British Columbia. If you qualify, the provincial government will then invite you to apply for BC PNP through Express Entry. Nomination by the province gives you 600/1200 points in the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score, which all but guarantees you an ITA (Invitation to Apply) during the next draw.
